JOB TITLE:                                Anticipated Special Education Teacher

START DATE:                            February 2026

LOCATION:                                Elementary School 

BASIS OF EMPLOYMENT:     Probationary Tenure Track

RATE OF PAY:                           as per the PCT Collective Bargaining Agreement

 

Pawling is seeking a dedicated and skilled Special Education Teacher with experience implementing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) strategies to support students with diverse learning and behavioral needs. The ideal candidate is collaborative, data-driven, and committed to inclusive practices that promote student independence, academic growth, and positive behavior. In addition, key responsibilities may include:

* Design and deliver individualized, standards-aligned instruction based on students’ IEP

* Implement ABA-based instructional and behavioral strategies, including:

1. Data collection and progress monitoring
2. Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
3. Reinforcement systems and skill acquisition programs

* Collaborate with BCBAs, school psychologists, related service providers, and general education teachers
* Analyze student data to adjust instruction and behavior supports

* Create structured, predictable learning environments that support positive behavior
* Communicate effectively with families regarding student progress and strategies
* Participate in CSE meetings, IEP development, and compliance documentation
* Support inclusion and access to the general education curriculum when appropriate

Job Qualifications

Special Class Experience Required

NYSED Certification in Special Education (K-12)  or (1-6)
