LOCATION:                                  Pawling Central School District

BASIS OF EMPLOYMENT:         Full time, 12 month position

RATE OF PAY:                             Competitive salary commensurate with experience

Job Description:

The Pawling Central School District is seeking an experienced, highly knowledgeable and forward thinking leader to serve as the Assistant Superintendent for Finance. Reporting directly to the Superintendent of Schools, this cabinet-level administrator collaborates with building-level and district-level administrators to ensure effective stewardship of the District’s resources, with respect to budgeting and personnel management, long-term financial planning, and capital construction. This position also provides oversight and leadership in all financial areas, including cash management, purchasing, accounting, financial statements, risk management, state aid reporting and management, capital projects, financial audits, and tax collection.

Responsibilities:

  • Development and management of the annual budget, supervision of the accounting of all income and expenditures, and responsibility for the receipt and expenditure of school district funds.
  • Collaboration with the Superintendent of Schools and Board of Education in long-range budget development and financial planning, and with building and department leaders in the maximization of financial, physical and human resources.
  • Leadership and engagement in contract negotiations and ongoing positive labor relations.
  • Supervision and evaluation of business office staff and directors and supervisors of facilities, food service and transportation.
  • Management of all bonds and capital projects.
